The Importance of Being Ernest

I think this nineteen-second piece of fine cinema is one of the more apt metaphors for my life:

You and me both, Ernest. You and me both. Sigh.

But that's a good thing.

It can be a virtue and a vice. Latching onto law school and graduating early? Virtue. Dating someone who wasn't in love with me on and off for nine years? Vice. Training the most submissive, obedient, and kind Jack Russell Terrier my vet has ever seen? Virtue. Staying up and keeping myself busy until exhaustion? Vice. Et cetera.

I can definitely relate! There are many things I should realize are not worth the effort, or that there are many more important things to pursue. Still learning not to put the blinders on while pursuing a goal.

Let me know if you figure that out.
